The American Hospital Association (AHA) named Jay Bhatt, D.O., chief medical officer and president of the Health Research and Educational Trust (HRET) of the AHA. Bhatt will join the AHA in September 2016.

The Albert Schweitzer Fellowship (ASF) announces that Irwin Redlener, MD, Co-founder and President of the Children’s Health Fund, will receive the 2014 Albert Schweitzer Prize for Humanitarianism. The 2014 Clarion Award for Health Promotion and Education will be given to Joseph R. Betancourt, MD, MPH, Director of the Disparities Solutions Center at Massachusetts General Hospital. Sally Harris, a long time ASF board member and current vice chair, will be honored with the 2014 Lawrence Gussman Award for Extraordinary Service to The Albert Schweitzer Fellowship.
Jacqueline Nwando Olayiwola, Mongan Commonwealth Fund Fellow in Minority Health Policy (2004-2005), received the Mid-Career Award presented by HSPH, recognizing achievements in public health practice, innovation, and professional service.
